Rayong Attractions

Located about 2 hours east of Bangkok, Rayong has allocated industrial areas, but also some very beautiful beaches and the famous Samed Island. The area is famous for its fresh and reasonably priced seafood and also has easy access to Pattaya and U-Tapao International Airport, both about an hour away.

Rayong has been already approved for a new motorway to Pattaya and a high speed train connection to Bangkok, as such travel to the province in the future will become quite fast. Hospitals, International Schools, large supermarket chains like Big C & Macro, Central Department Store and other large chain stores can all be accessed in Rayong City itself.


ao kaiAo-Kai Beach is a small cape a few miles beyond Mae Pim Cape, the bay of Ao Kai-Laem Tan which opens on to the Gulf of Thailand. It is home to a small fishing village, the local delicacy for the adventurous is is pickled jellyfish.

sunset mae rampheungHat Mae Rampheung is 20 minutes from Rayong City and a very quiet area with uncrowded beaches that has been compared to Phuket 30 years ago. It has the provinces longest white sand beach being 12 kilometers.

Suan-Wang-Kaew Suan Wangkaew Beach is 5 kilometers east of Ban Phe with upmarket bungalows and is a popular picnic place, with shady areas, white sand and of course a number of sea-food places happy to feed you.

Saengchan BeachSaengchan Beach is a series of man-made lagoon-type harbors is part of a trio of joined beaches that stretch for 11km along the bay.

ban chang beachNamrin Beach is located in the Ban Chang District north of Rayong. It has several resting spots to enjoy the sea breeze plus there is also a popular public park next to the beach.

Suanson BeachSuanson Beach is in an area of extensive coastline and excellent white sandy beaches, a place locals favour for picnics because of its shady areas and great view of the ocean. The stalls and restaurants around the beaches offer some excellent seafood dishes.

Laem Maephim BeachLaem Maephim Beach is about 50 km from Rayong, a white-sandy beach, a plenty of seafood restaurants, and activities to attract visitors to enjoy and stay in this 10 km beach.


koh samedKoh Samed  is a popular retreat with foreign tourists and as a weekend getaway for residents of nearby Bangkok, most of the island is in the Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park.

Koh Mun NaiKoh Mun Nai is located with two other islands in the group about 5 km from Laem Mae Phim, it is a quiet alternative with many secluded spots for swimming or relaxing.



National Parks

Suan Son Park

SuanSon Park  is a kilometer from Ban Phe and also know as the Casuarinas (pine) gardens. These splendid tress line both verges of the road for a distance of 1 kilometer and provide a magnificent vista.

 Sri Muang ParkSri Muang Park is located in the center of Rayong town behind the city hall. The most prominent feature is a Buddhist Shrine which is built over an artificial lake and in Traditional Thai architectural style.

Every area is of course best sampled before moving there, however Rayong does have many attractions to keep both visitors and residents occupied. Add to that its more laid back feel, still with easy access to Pattaya and Bangkok, it is a very desirable and increasingly popular location.
