According to Pattaya Mail Pattaya has proposed an eight-kilometer-long downtown tram system be included in the 310-billion-baht Eastern Economic Corridor development plan under consideration by the government.
The route would run a circle from North to South roads on Beach and Second roads, following the usual route of traffic-clogging baht buses in an attempt to solve the city’s congestion woes. An estimated cost for the tram was not disclosed
This is all part of the governments efforts to improve infrastructure in the Eastern Economic Corridor. As previously posted improved motorways, rail and airport links also constitute this plan.
As Pattaya can be a little heavy on the traffic side, a tram connection would make trips to the area both easier and more convenient being able to park further from the central area and take public transport in.
